Our Pitch Feedback
From the feedback we have received we are able to see that the most popular ideas are using the protection and lighting and the use of using black and white as a colour pallet this is something we will take into consideration when filming. The black and white concept may be something we will include however we are going to film as though we would not be using the filter therefore, during the filming stage of production we will exclude it and work on the black an white idea during our editing process during post production. Something that received mixed reviews is the locations we've decided on using to film (inside the white room and outside using natural lighting) although said "if accessible it can be pulled off well" this has left us with an conception of uncertainty and we have decided to take care when filming however keeping back up plans during our story boarding process in case things don't work or do not look how we are hoping them to.
Other feedback (on paper) that we received include:
- "Difficult locations to film in (outside)- liked the black and white colour pallet but try colour also" - This comment allowed us to think that perhaps we could include both colour and black and white shots- but if we did thi it would correlate with the change in setting and scene.
- "Good idea keeping to simple Hip-Hop as it is a to accomplish a more famous Hip-Hop style- Black and white may be difficult to accomplish" - We have taken this on board and decided to stick with our simple design and presentation of our artist with just some simple branded shoes instead of ultimately wearing majorly famous clothing brands.
- "Styling works with it being related to the artist they're based on (Witt Lowry)- Lighting issues could be encountered when filming at night. Lip syncing issues could be encountered due to speed."- With this feed back we have decided that we may avoid night time filming although we will still try it during our filming process.
On reflection of our pitch we're taking the ideas of working with black and white colour pallet to work against conventional lighting as a good plan that is particularly interesting. Also using a projection effect to display the emotion of the characters is a leading idea of ours (for example if our character was sad we use miserable weather such as rain, or a storm- without the sounds- as a way to convey this). As for the location issues that have been brought up we believe filming and editing will still be accessible if done with correct timings, permissions and props/ technology.
